Jannik Sinner has continued his dominant start at Wimbledon after reaching the fourth round.

Sinner broke a Roger Federer record at Wimbledon after beating Pedro Martinez for the loss of just five games.

However, his Spanish opponent appeared to be physically hampered and Sinner sent a message to Martinez after the match.

Novak Djokovic has praised Sinner at Wimbledon this year, and now Andy Roddick has given his verdict on the world number one.

What Andy Roddick noticed about Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon

Sinner is yet to drop a set in his first three matches at Wimbledon this year, and was watched on by many famous faces in his Centre Court match against Martinez.

One of those in the Royal Box was the aforementioned Roddick, who has now spoken about his experience watching Sinner in person.

When discussing the match on his Served with Andy Roddick Podcast, the former US Open champion suggested that Sinner was still not playing at his top level yet.

However, Roddick went on to claim that he has never heard a noise like the sound that came from Sinner’s racket under the Centre Court roof.

“Sinner looked great,” said Roddick. “I still don’t think Sinner has reached top flight here. I don’t think we know what he is in this tournament yet. If you are throwing 92mph at the centre of the box on first serves [like Pedro Martinez], we are not getting a true accounting of Jannik Sinner.

“I will tell you this though, seeing it that close. The ball sounds so different off of his racket to every other human on Earth. He is like a human rubber band.

“It was like an explosion every single time. Outside of a serve, I have never made that sound with a ball on a racket in my life. It was insane. It is just thumped.

“And then he is able to take balls, the wrist work is insane. I don’t know how he times it as consistently as he does with that much lag.

“But I still think he was trying to paint lines. His ball is so heavy. I think if he just controls middle [he wins]. It’s almost like he’s in a rush to get things done and I don’t know if anyone can attack him.

“If he plays as big as he plays through the middle of the court, he is used to playing close to the lines, he would be four feet in for the line and Martinez was nowhere near.”

Jannik Sinner vs Grigor Dimitrov Head-to-head

Sinner will now face a first seeded opponent in Grigor Dimitrov, who has overcome recent injury struggles to win three consecutive matches for the first time since April.

History favours Sinner in this upcoming match, as he has won four of his past five matches against Dimitrov.

Dimitrov’s only victory over Sinner came back in 2021, when he beat him at the Italian Open.
