Carlos Alcaraz has made a strong start to his title defence at the Monte-Carlo Masters this year.

The Spaniard, who hoisted the trophy for the first time last year, has beaten Sebastian Baez and Tomas Martin Etcheverry so far, and will take on Alexander Bublik next.

Alcaraz is bidding to claim a ninth ATP Masters 1000 title in Monte-Carlo, and a 27th tour-level crown overall.

After a shocking early exit at the Miami Open, he is also looking to bounce back in order to protect his position as the world number one.

Where Jannik Sinner ranks in all-time prize money on the ATP Tour

Alcaraz has already earned a fortune on the ATP Tour, and his great rival, Jannik Sinner, is not far behind on that front.

In the all-time list for career prize money earned, Sinner ranks two places below Alcaraz in seventh, with a sum of $61,191,211.

World number three Alexander Zverev ranks between Sinner and Alcaraz with $61,319,289 in prize money collected.

Having won both the Indian Wells Open and the Miami Open, as well as making the semifinals of the Australian Open, Sinner has already made $3,215,260 in prize money this year.

The record for the most prize money earned in a single season belongs to Djokovic, who raked in $21,646,145 during his historic 2015 campaign.
