Andy Murray has endured a tough time of late, with the Scot constantly plagued by injuries in recent years.

He has, however, constantly battled against those issues to make it back onto the court time and time again.

The 37-year-old’s latest fightback came at the Stuttgart Open, although he was unable to progress in Germany.

Murray went head to head with American Marcos Giron in the opening round, with the latter emerging victorious 6-3, 6-4.

It follows the Scot’s early exit at the French Open, where the veteran lost 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 in his first round singles clash with Stan Wawrinka.

Andy Murray shares fresh Olympics update

He was also involved in the men’s doubles in France, but again suffered a first round defeat, losing 7-6(8-6), 7-6(7-3) alongside Dan Evans.

All eyes are now quickly turning to the next major of the season following the tournament in Paris, with Wimbledon rapidly approaching.

There is, however, also the small matter of the Olympics taking place this summer, with Murray now sharing an update on his potential presence in Paris.

“I need to see what happens with the Olympics,” said Murray, as per The Times. “I’m not 100 per cent sure what the situation is there with the doubles yet and whether or not I will play if I just get in the singles. I don’t know.

“My body didn’t feel great playing on the clay in the last month or so. I had quite a few issues with my back, so I don’t know if I would go just for singles. I need to wait a little bit and see on that.”

Will Andy Murray make it to the Paris Olympics?

Murray had big plans for the French Open, but was handed a difficult task from day one after being drawn to face Wawrinka.

A loss to Thiago Seyboth Wild and Sebastian Baez in the doubles followed, in what was Murray’s Paris farwell.

The Scot will have been disappointed with his tournament in the French capital, a competition in which he was also left bemused by the introduction of the umpire head cam.

He will now be focusing on the upcoming events, with a return to France not yet ruled out, even with Murray’s issues on clay.

Having just hosted the French Open, the venue will welcome back many of the world’s top tennis stars for the 2024 Olympics.

The major competition gets underway at the end of July, but Wimbledon is up first on the calendar, taking place at the beginning of July.

The three-time Grand Slam winner looks set for one last dance in London, having recently provided a positive fitness update, with everything feeling better for Murray since his return to grass courts.
