Murray was talking after kicking off his Indian Wells campaign in style with a routine win over David Goffin.
He claimed a 6-3, 6-2 victory to reach the round of 64 where he will face Andrey Rublev.
After the game, Murray sat down with The Tennis Podcast to discuss Alcaraz – and he loves watching the young player.
He said: “I love watching Alcaraz. Because of the way he plays the game, he has so much variety and power and he tries stuff.
“He doesn’t always get it right, he makes mistakes, and that is also something that I enjoy watching because you never know what is going to come next.
“I have always enjoyed watching Monfils as well.”
Murray looking for good run at Indian Wells
Rublev is the number five seed at the tournament and he will provide a stern test for Murray in the last 64.
It’s not a surprise that Murray enjoys watching Alcaraz as let’s face it, who doesn’t enjoy watching the boy wonder?
His form at Wimbledon on the way to the title last year was just sensational and he captured the hearts of the London fan base.
Murray is coming to the end of his career and as a result, it will be interesting to see what comes next for the player.
