Andy Murray has revealed if he thinks Novak Djokovic could win another major title.

Murray coached Djokovic at the start of the 2025 season, with the former rivals joining forces for six months.

After helping the Serbian reach the Australian Open semifinals, poor results during the clay court season caused Murray and Djokovic to mutually part ways.

Nearly a year on since their coaching relationship came to an end, Murray has predicted if Djokovic will win a 25th Grand Slam.

Andy Murray admits the ‘difficulty’ Novak Djokovic could face in winning a 25th Grand Slam

Djokovic has already won more Grand Slam singles titles than any other player in the Open Era, but there has been a lot of focus on him winning a 25th major, with a focus on moving ahead of Margaret Court’s tally.

The 38-year-old failed to reach a major final last year, but after beating Jannik Sinner, Djokovic returned to the Australian Open final in January, before losing to Carlos Alcaraz.

When speaking to Sky Sports, Murray was asked if he thinks Djokovic can win a 25th Grand Slam.

While Murray claimed that Djokovic could reach this milestone, he explained the difficulties he may face in doing so.

“I think that he can,” said Murray. “The difficulty is when you get to the age that he’s at, if you play too much tennis, you risk injury, or not being fresh for the majors but then if you’re not competing enough and your body is not match-hardened and ready to play seven matches across two weeks, it is also very difficult physically.

“Last year, he made the semifinals of all four majors, but definitely had three injuries across those events and that’s the balancing act.

“It has to be perfect preparation with enough match play and enough training, but you could see at the Australian Open with the results that he had, beating Alcaraz last year and beating Sinner this year, that he still has the potential to do it.”

Andy Murray suggests if he would want to coach again

Following Murray’s split from Djokovic in May last year, there has been a lot of speculation about who he could coach next.

Many names have been speculated about a player Murray could coach in the future, including Emma Raducanu, but he is yet to take a new role since then.

Despite admitting he would be open to coaching again, Murray explained that he is not wanting to do so at this very moment.

“Djokovic probably learned nothing [from me],” said Murray. “No, I learned a lot and honestly, I would coach again but probably not right now.

“I’ve had a few opportunities to coach but I don’t really want to do loads of travelling right now unless it’s with my family.”
