Andy Murray has already taken up a new sport having only just retired from tennis after the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Emma Raducanu says tennis will miss Murray, who has left tennis after winning 46 singles titles, including three Grand Slams.

Murray has called time on his stunning career at the age of 37, having lost in the Olympics men’s doubles quarter-finals.

He enjoyed a lengthy run in the competition alongside fellow Briton Dan Evans, having been forced to miss the singles event due to injury.

Murray also missed out on a final Wimbledon singles run earlier this summer due to injury, but managed to play doubles alongside his brother Jamie.

Andy Murray turns to golf after tennis retirement

It remains to be seen exactly what the Scot will do with his time, but Boris Becker has told Murray to find something he is passionate about.

And it seems that Murray has already found that passion, with the tennis icon changing his X cover photo to a golf practice range, while his new bio reads: “I played tennis. I now play golf.”

Many sports stars often turn to another sport upon their retirement, which is perhaps unsurprising given their endless talents.

And that is certainly the case with tennis players, with Casper Ruud wanting to play golf professionally after retiring from tennis.

Murray meanwhile has been linked to roles within tennis commentary and coaching, but according to National Club Golfer, he has plans to become a scratch golfer.

The publication added that Murray currently plays off seven, with Rafael Nadal, another golf fan, playing off scratch.

Like Nadal, Murray has struggled with various injuries in recent years, with the Scot surely needing to shake those off in order to enjoy a successful career in golf.
