Andrey Rublev may just have mixed feelings about his 2024 season, which ended with 43 wins and 26 losses.
Rublev finished eighth in the ATP Tour year-end rankings, with the 27-year-old Russian winning two titles in 2024.
He emerged victorious at the ATP Masters 1,000 Madrid and in Hong Kong, where he beat Felix Auger-Aliassime and Emil Ruusuvuori respectively.
At the same time, however, along with disappointing Grand Slam defeats, plenty of concerns emerged throughout the season about his behaviour on the court.
Rublev drew blood after thrashing his racket into his knee during his Paris Masters meeting with Francisco Cerundolo, with a similar meltdown having taken place against Matteo Arnaldi at the French Open.

Andrey Rublev states his main goal for 2025 after concerns this year
Tennis fans called for Rublev to get help following that Roland Garros outburst, with the 16-time ATP Tour title winner clearly struggling mentally.
Rublev is working on his net game in training, but the Russian has now shared his main goal for the 2025 season, telling the Tennis Weekly Podcast: “To be healthy mentally! In my case it’s very easy. It’s all about my mindset.

“If I am able to take all the lessons and not only learn them but to use them and have the right mindset, not for one week with the ups and downs like this year. If I am able to do it for a longer time then the tennis will take care of itself.”
What is Andrey Rublev’s Grand Slam record?
Rublev’s poor behaviour on the court has been well documented, although his mental struggles seemingly came to a head in 2024.
The Russian is clearly a very talented player, having once reached fifth in the world rankings, but he does need to work on his mental approach.
That is, of course, much easier said than done, but with the right help Rublev could get back to his very best both on and off the court.
After another busy season, he should be using the off-season to improve his mental health, although the 2025 campaign will arrive thick and fast.

A lengthy run at the 2025 Australian Open could help his cause and help set the tone for the rest of the year, with Rublev falling at the quarter-final stage last time out.
That was his best Grand Slam finish in 2024, and indeed remains his best career Grand Slam finish across all four major events.
