Novak Djokovic will enter the 2025 season with plenty of motivation, with Grand Slam history on the cards.
Djokovic has been backed to win the Australian Open, which would represent a record-extending 11th men’s title at the event.
The Serbian is out on his own with 10 triumphs in Melbourne, with Roger Federer his closest rival in the Open Era with six.
Djokovic suffered his heaviest Grand Slam defeat in Australia, but he has recovered superbly from that debut loss to Marat Safin.
The 37-year-old is currently level on 24 Grand Slam titles with Margaret Court, and will undoubtedly be eyeing the all-time record next month.
Andrea Petkovic makes Novak Djokovic prediction for 2025
His stunning career efforts at the Grand Slam have caught the attention of Rennae Stubbs and Andrea Petkovic, who have now discussed Djokovic on The Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast.
“We know that’s the tournament that he plays his best tennis at,” said Stubbs. “He has won it 10 times, which is outrageous. The only person you can talk about in the same category as Rafa [Nadal] – winning 14 French Open.
“But the fact he has won 10 Australian Open, I would say it might even be as impressive, because everyone plays pretty well on hard courts.

“Whereas if you grow up on clay, no American can play on clay, they can’t even slide. Whereas everyone can play on hard court.”
Petkovic noted: “My prediction for Novak next year is that he will not give a flying f about any of the tournaments apart from the Australian Open and Wimbledon and he will make a huge push with everything he has left, he will give everything he has to win number 25 and then get out.”
And Stubbs added: “If he wins the Australian Open, I would like him to drop the mic and say I have been to Australia for 20 years and now I am going to take my whole family on holiday and see the country. I would really love to see Novak win one more.”
Who did Novak Djokovic beat in his 10 Australian Open finals?
Starting way back in 2008, Djokovic has won seven Wimbledon, four US Open and three French Open titles.
But it is in Australia where he has enjoyed the majority of his success, with the Serbian having been able to master the hard courts in Melbourne, winning all 10 of his finals there.

It is a record that seems unassailable at this moment in time, but Djokovic will be desperate to bow out with another Grand Slam given the current all-time record standings.
And he seemingly has the best chance of doing that at the Australian Open, although defending champion Jannik Sinner will likely put up a strong challenge.
Djokovic has, however, overcome the very best the sport has had to offer in Australian Opens gone by, while his record should strike fear into his current opposition.
