The 2026 grass-court season is some way away, but many players will have big intentions of enjoying a successful spell on the surface this year.
First up is the clay-court swing, which comprises 10 tournaments on the WTA Tour calendar, beginning with Charleston and Bogota.
Immediately after that, seven tournaments make up the grass-court swing, which concludes with Wimbledon in mid-July.
The iconic grass-court Grand Slam is certain to throw up plenty of surprises once again this year, where Iga Swiatek will be out to defend her title.
But former player Andrea Petkovic has predicted a different champion amid the surprising history of winners in London.

Andrea Petkovic predicts Jessica Pegula to win Wimbledon
Petkovic said on The Big T Podcast: “My bold prediction is that Jess Pegula wins Wimbledon.
“I think Wimbledon in the past has always had some surprising winners.
“I don’t think Jess would necessarily be that surprising but I remember when she was up 4-1 in the third on [Marketa] Vondrousova a couple of years ago, when she ended up winning.
“I don’t remember it exactly, but she was up.
“So this is my bold prediction – Jess Pegula wins Wimbledon.”
Given her record at Wimbledon, which includes a shock first round exit just last year, it can certainly be classified as a bold prediction.

Wimbledon will be at the back of Pegula’s mind right now, with the American currently focused on the Charleston Open.
But when the time comes she should be desperate to impress on grass, and at Wimbledon in particular.

In terms of Grand Slam finishes, it represents her joint-worst tournament alongside the clay courts of the French Open.
She’s never made it beyond the quarterfinals of either event, compared to runner-up and semifinal finishes at the US Open and Australian Open respectively.

Therefore, a maiden Grand Slam win arriving at Wimbledon is certainly a long shot, but definitely not impossible thanks to her current form.
Currently ranked fifth in the world, she entered Charleston with a 19-4 record and a WTA 1000 title from Dubai.
Intriguingly, next up for Pegula at the tournament is a round of 16 tie with Elisabetta Cocciaretto, who she was shocked by at Wimbledon last summer.
