Despite only just finishing their 2025 seasons, many WTA Tour players are turning their focus to 2026.
There is little time to rest on the WTA Tour, which returns in early January with the United Cup in Australia.
The players involved in the team-based hard-court event will be looking to fine-tune their games for the Australian Open shortly after.
Included in the field is Barbora Krejcikova, a two-time Grand Slam singles champion and seven-time doubles champion.

Caty McNally ‘honored’ to play doubles with Barbora Krejcikova in 2026
Krejcikova has experienced injury difficulties in recent times, but she’s already signalled one big intention for her 2026 season.
Czech star Krejcikova has messaged American ace Caty McNally to play doubles with her next year, with the latter quickly agreeing.
What is your match of the year from the 2025 WTA season?
As quoted by the WTA Tour website, McNally said: “She’s a legend. I’m honored to play with her. She’s honestly been one of my role models.
“You know, she had doubles success first. In a lot of my career, especially in juniors and maybe early on in my pro career, I had a lot more success in doubles.
“And she’s just one of those people that shows you, hey, you can go out there and win a Grand Slam in singles, too.
“I don’t want to just be labelled as a doubles player. Like, no, I’m a tennis player. I play both. I’ve had more success in doubles early on.
“But I can still play singles, and I still want to win Grand Slams in singles. She has a lot of experience in that, and I’m looking forward to learning from her.”

What is Caty McNally’s WTA record in doubles?
Just like Krejcikova, McNally has had plenty of injury struggles, but she’s hoping for a big season in 2026.
The American has a singles ranking of 85 and a doubles ranking of 63, with all eight of her career titles having arrived in the latter format.
Who is your favorite player on the WTA Tour right now?
McNally has also reached two US Open doubles finals, but lost in 2021 and 2022 alongside Coco Gauff and Taylor Townsend respectively.
Ironically, Krejcikova was on the opposite side of the net in that second defeat, with the pair now set to join forces in 2026.
