Amanda Anisimova is through to the second Grand Slam final of her career after defeating Naomi Osaka in three sets at the US Open.
The American came back from a set down against the Japanese star to clinch the win 6-7, 7-6, 6-3 and set up a title bout with defending champion Aryna Sabalenka.
Anisimova, who suffered a heartbreaking loss in the championship match at Wimbledon in July, has bounced back at Flushing Meadows and now has the chance to earn a maiden major crown.
After coming out on top against Osaka, the home favourite reacted to her triumph and revealed what she told the two-time US Open champion at the net.

Amanda Anisimova reacts to reaching the 2025 US Open final
When asked in her on-court interview how she was able to come through and secure the win, Anisimova said: “I don’t know! Naomi is playing amazing tennis. She is back where she belongs.
“I told her I am so proud of her after having a baby and playing at this level. It’s insane. She was really giving me a run for the final. I wasn’t sure I would make it past the finish line. I tried to dig deep and it was a huge fight out there today.”
The US star was nearly broken by Osaka when trying to close out the match, but held her nerve and sealed the deal
She explained: “I just tried to stay positive. There were a lot of nerves at the beginning, and that is something that I am trying to work on.

“This tournament means so much to me and I think that was really getting to me, just trying to fight your way through.
“I was trying to enjoy the moment, we were both playing some amazing tennis, and I was like how are we making these shots, but we were, and we just kept going.”
Anisimova will now play in her first US Open final in front of a home crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
“It means the world,” said the WTA number nine.
“I am trying to process that right now. It’s just a dream come true. This has been a dream of mine forever to be in the US Open final. The hope is to be the champion. I am just excited, and it’s really special.”

Amanda Anisimova matches Serena Williams and Venus Williams at the US Open
Anisimova has enjoyed a terrific second half to her Grand Slam season in 2025.
She is now the youngest player to reach the women’s singles final at both Wimbledon and the US Open since Serena Williams and Venus Williams in 2002.
The 23-year-old suffered a second-round exit at the Australian Open and bowed out in round four at Roland Garros, but has claimed her two best major finishes in London and New York.
After her heavy defeat to Iga Swiatek at the All England Club earlier this summer, Anisimova will be even more determined to emerge victorious against Sabalenka in the US Open final.
