Aryna Sabalenka has been one of the standout players on the WTA Tour for some time.
The Belarusian superstar currently tops the world rankings, and has claimed three WTA titles in the 2026 season so far.
But according to one of her main rivals, Amanda Anisimova, the four-time Grand Slam champion has been making an equally significant impact away from her achievements on the court.

Amanda Anisimova praises Aryna Sabalenka for driving WTA change
The current world number six, Anisimova referenced Sabalenka when explaining how the WTA Tour has changed since she made her breakthrough.
“I love the direction the players are going in when it comes to the social environment and easing that tension when we are off the court,” said the American, as quoted by BBC Sport.
“I would say it’s a great environment now: we socialise, we talk.
“But when I first came on to the tour it was still a bit tense.
“There were a few players I talked to who made me feel seen and involved, but it was definitely very interesting, especially coming from the juniors.
“I love the older players who treat the new ones coming on with respect and make them feel welcome, because it is kind of scary when you are entering a new career.
“I’d say more of the top players have normalised that.
“Aryna [Sabalenka] is doing a great job of that, being very social and welcoming with a lot of the players.”
Amanda Anisimova’s thrilling head-to-head with Aryna Sabalenka
There is unquestionably a certain camaraderie among many WTA players right now, although that isn’t the case for everyone.
But Anisimova clearly feels she can count on players like Sabalenka, despite the pressure and scrutiny that comes with being world number one.

Intriguingly, the pair have been playing out a thrilling battle on the court, having met 11 times throughout their careers.
And it is Anisimova who holds a narrow advantage over Sabalenka, having won six and lost five of their battles so far.
However, the Belarusian claimed victory in their most significant clash, triumphing in their 2025 US Open final.
