Amanda Anisimova enjoyed an incredible two weeks at Wimbledon, but ultimately her campaign has ended in heartbreak.
Anisimova lost in straight sets to Iga Swiatek, 6-0, 6-0, in what was one of the heaviest women’s Grand Slam final defeats in the Open Era.
Nothing was going right for the American, who totalled 28 unforced errors, in a match that lasted just 57 minutes on Centre Court.
Following her loss to newly crowned Wimbledon champion Swiatek, Anisimova reflected on her two weeks at the All England Club and made a claim about men’s finalists Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

Amanda Anisimova reflects on her Wimbledon campaign
In her post-match press conference, Anisimova said: “I feel like the last two weeks I’ve learned that you’re never gonna be perfect. Every match is different.
“I sensed myself getting down on myself… and when I look at players like Jannik or Carlos, who I look up to a lot, they don’t make easy mistakes.
“They don’t give almost anything to their opponents. I also reminded myself that nobody’s perfect. I was trying to go into today thinking that, ‘ok, I’ll accept the mistakes I’ll make.’
“Maybe that wasn’t the right way of going into it (smiling). But I think my fighting spirit got me to the final. It wasn’t me playing perfect in a way.
“There were matches I struggled. I wasn’t playing to my full potential. Just me staying focused and fighting my way through certain moments and lifting myself up, trying to not get negative was the most important thing. That’s really what got me to the final.”

She won her first two matches at the tournament comfortably, without dropping a set, and earned wins over Dalma Galfi and Linda Noskova to make her first quarter-final at a major since 2022.
