Alexander Zverev suffered a relatively early exit at the Italian Open, having fallen in the round of 16 to Luciano Darderi.
Home favorite Darderi has since progressed to the semifinals in Rome, but ATP number three Zverev has been left pondering what went wrong.
The German was beaten 6-1, 6-7(10-12), 0-6 in an epic clash at the Italian Open, having failed to convert four match points in the second-set tie-break.
He certainly didn’t hold back after his exit, claiming after the loss: “I mean, to be honest, the court, I think, this is the worst court I’ve ever played on.”
And his rage has now extended to social media, with Zverev left very unhappy with the Tennis Channel after being cut from another of their videos.
Where will Alexander Zverev finish 2026 ranked?
Alexander Zverev tells the Tennis Channel to stop wasting his time
The Tennis Channel shared a video on Instagram featuring various ATP and WTA players attempting a Roman Numerals Challenge, under which Zverev left an angry comment.
He wrote: “Just a random question [Tennis Channel], why do I do all of these games and all these promotion activities with you guys but then every time I get something right I get cut out of every single one?
“Just asking if you’re just interested in wasting my time or just hope that I get something wrong so you can then put that in?
“I know you have players that you love to hate on and players that you love. So just please stop wasting my time then. Thank you.”

Should Alexander Zverev speak out less often?
The ATP star clearly isn’t happy with the latest content from the Tennis Channel, having spoken up in true Zverev style.
He certainly isn’t afraid to speak his mind, which on the one hand should be commended given that it is becoming increasingly rare in tennis and indeed sport in general.
Will Alexander Zverev ever win a Grand Slam title?
At the same time, however, the German is sometimes playing with fire with his comments, which often leave him open to criticism.
Slamming the Italian Open court immediately after his exit wasn’t exactly a great look, while he also recently incorrectly drew comparisons between himself and ATP superstar Carlos Alcaraz.
