Alexander Zverev and Andrey Rublev have enjoyed lengthy stays in the world’s top ten, picking up titles regularly.

The German star has reached three Grand Slam finals during his career to date and is currently ranked second in the world behind Jannik Sinner.

His form hasn’t been the best recently, however, as Zverev lost to Tallon Griekspoor in the second round at Indian Wells.

Rublev is another player to have struggled in 2025, losing his opening match in four of the seven tournaments he’s played.

Seemingly out of nowhere, Rublev won the Qatar Open in February, before returning to form, falling to defeat against Quentin Halys in Dubai, and Matteo Arnaldi in California.

As the pair look to get back on track at the Miami Open, Zverev has revealed what Rublev does behind the scenes that many fans don’t realize.

Alexander Zverev says fans don’t realize ‘how good’ Andrey Rublev is to people around him

Speaking on the ATP Tour’s YouTube channel, Zverev and other top tennis stars were asked to name the players that make them happiest.

“Andrey Rublev, he’s such a good person,” said Zverev.

“I think people don’t realize how good he is actually to others and to people around him so he deserves all the love he gets and he makes me very happy as well.”

Rublev’s fellow Russian Daniil Medvedev agreed as he complimented the world number nine.

“I will go with Andrey, you know when we see each other we’re usually very happy,” he said.

Rublev trails the head-to-head with both Zverev and Medvedev, winning just five of his 19 matches against the pair.

Jack Draper says he ‘loves to be around’ Gael Monfils and calls him a ‘legend of the sport’

Rublev wasn’t the only player picked, as Frenchman Gael Monfils was also praised for making another top player happy on tour.

“Whenever I run into Gael Monfils he always brings a smile on my face,” said Jack Draper.

“I think he’s a very charismatic guy, very kind, he’s always got a magic trick up his sleeve and he’ll baffle people.

“Just great energy to be around, obviously a legend of the sport, a really funny, amazing guy and I love to be around him.”

Draper beat Monfils in their only career meeting at the Canadian Open in 2022, as the now 38-year-old retired with an injury during the second set.

America’s Tommy Paul was also asked the same question as he picked his countryman as the player who makes him happiest.

“I think Big Foe [Frances Tiafoe] is the guy that makes everyone smile and laugh the most,” he said.

“He’s just always in a good mood.

“His smile is contagious so Big Foe is the easy answer.”

Nothing would make the stars of the ATP Tour happier than a win at the Miami Open, as the action continues in Florida.
