Alexander Zverev is relishing the chance to face Carlos Alcaraz once again.

The 27-year-old is playing some of his best tennis of the season and is on a mission to claim a third ATP Finals title.

To end the round robin stage of the tournament, Zverev will take on Alcaraz in what will be their 11th career meeting, and they currently have five wins apiece.

The German may be in fine form, but he knows more than most just exactly what Alcaraz is capable of and what makes him so dangerous.

It would not be a surprise if Alexander Zverev already had one eye on his clash with Carlos Alcaraz before the ATP Finals even began.

The pair push one another to their limits and tend to bring out the best in each other more than most.

They have certainly done so over the course of their three meetings in 2024 so far and on Friday they will meet for the fourth time this season.

Alcaraz has not been at his best throughout the ATP Finals, but Zverev expects nothing less from the Spaniard on Friday night.

“We have played some very tough battles this year at Grand Slam events in Australia and the French Open. I am expecting a tough match,” he said.

“I’m expecting him to play his best tennis yet here. We will see how it goes. I am looking forward to it. I think we are both in good shape right now so it’s going to be fun to watch.”

Alexander Zverev out for revenge on Carlos Alcaraz at the ATP Finals

Zverev claimed the first of his three meetings with Alcaraz this season at the Australian Open in January.

The pair have played twice since then, and it is the World number three who has come out on top.

At Indian Wells, Alcaraz claimed a straight sets win on the way to defending the Masters 1000 title in the Californian desert.

Their last meeting came in the French Open, and Zverev held a two sets to one lead over the 21-year-old before Alcaraz stormed back to triumph in five sets at Roland Garros.

Zverev will be looking to turn the tables and secure his sixth win over Alcaraz and enter the last four at the ATP Finals undefeated.
