Alexander Bublik says if he thinks he is currently playing the best tennis of his career

Alexander Bublik clinched a huge career milestone earlier this season when he finally cracked the world’s top ten.

The achievement came after the Kazakh star’s triumph in Hong Kong, where he defeated Lorenzo Musetti in the final to hoist the title.

Bublik‘s strong start to 2026 follows his career-best campaign in 2025, during which he secured four tour-level titles.

Ahead of his run at this year’s Dubai Tennis Championships, the 28-year-old reflected on the progress he has made recently.

Alexander Bublik discusses his progress over the last year

Asked if he feels he is a better player than ever before in an interview with Tennis TV, Bublik replied: “I think so.

“I think it’s a synergy of everything. I mean, a lot of shots have been hit in the past 20 years, a lot of matches have been hit in the past 20 years.

Who is your favorite ATP player right now?

“I grew. I matured a bit as a tennis player. I matured a bit as a person. So I think it all came together with a bit of a fall back in the rankings, then resettling, then going back to the top 30, top 20 maybe.

“I was not aiming for the top 10 at the time, but when it was in my reach, I had to use my chances, and I am lucky that I did that.”

Alexander Bublik’s results so far during the 2026 ATP season

After emerging victorious in Hong Kong to start 2026, Bublik kicked off his Grand Slam season at the Australian Open.

At Melbourne Park, Bublik won three matches in straight sets before being knocked out of the tournament by home hope Alex de Minaur.

He then played two Davis Cup matches in Kazakhstan’s tie with Monaco, beating Hugo Nys but falling to Shanghai Masters champion Valentin Vacherot.

Bublik’s most recent run came at the Rotterdam Open, where he reached the semifinals.

There, Bublik ultimately lost to Felix Auger-Aliassime in a heavy 6-1, 6-2 defeat.
