Alex de Minaur is among the ATP Tour players shining at the US Open, with the Australian now into the quarterfinals in New York.
De Minaur has a great chance of US Open success this year, with Felix Auger-Aliassime his next opponent in New York.
The former beat Leandro Riedi in straight sets to reach the last eight, while the latter did the same against Andrey Rublev.
De Minaur has indeed dropped just one set at the US Open, where he has also knocked out Daniel Altmaier, Shintaro Mochizuki and compatriot Christopher O’Connell.
He’s currently chasing an 11th ATP Tour title at Flushing Meadows this month, along with a maiden Grand Slam title.

De Minaur really enjoys the US Open, with the world number eight sharing insight into that feeling in his latest press conference.
When asked where he thinks he plays his best tennis, he replied: “Well I think if we look at results, I think this is by far my best Slam.

“It’s often a question I ask myself of why exactly is it here in New York. And I think I probably put it down to maybe the courts being a little bit quicker here, and the conditions and the ball flying through the air a little bit quicker.
“But all the way back to juniors, I had an incredible run from qualifiers all the way to the semifinals. I got my first top 10 win here against [Kei] Nishikori. First quarterfinals at a Slam was here.
“I’ve now made three quarters here. I just… I get good results here in New York. So New York treats me very well.”

De Minaur has impressed at every Grand Slam, having also reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon.
But that is where his runs have constantly finished, which should motivate the Australian to go at least one further at the US Open.
He did, however, shift his focus to another Grand Slam when asked which title he would like to win more than any other.

De Minaur responded: “I mean, I dream of winning Australia. That’s for me… I don’t think there would be a better feeling than winning your home Slam.
“At this stage any Grand Slam right? That’s the ultimate goal. I’m not going to get exactly picky if I can only get one, I’ll be very happy with whichever falls on my lap.
“But of course, I think growing up thinking about what it would feel like being an Australian winning in Australia. That would be pretty special.”
It is unsurprising that De Minaur is eyeing major home success, although fittingly his first-ever ATP title was of that nature.
He emerged victorious at the Sydney International in 2019 aged just 19, representing one of 10 career titles.
