Alex de Minaur is arguably one of the most underrated players in men’s tennis.

The Aussie has enjoyed plenty of success on tour and is ranked inside the top 10, but doesn’t get the respect he deserves.

During a video on the Tennis TV YouTube channel, Belgian star Zizou Bergs picked De Minaur as the most underrated player on the ATP Tour.

Who do you think was the better player? – Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal

Let us know why in the comments!

“The demon [Alex de Minaur], his results are pretty insane, and still, he gets so little involved in any discussion,” he said.

Bergs picked De Minaur as the most underrated player on tour, but who did the Aussie choose?

Alex de Minaur says Learner Tien is underrated

“Tien. Learner Tien,” said De Minaur.

“I don’t think for long, because his results are speaking for themselves, but yeah, one to watch.

“He’s playing some great ball.”

Tien has enjoyed a rapid rise up the world rankings since the beginning of the 2025 season.

The rise of Learner Tien

He’s done so, in part thanks to his wins over the best players in the men’s game.

Tien already has five top-ten wins to his name.

The 19-year-old has also qualified for a Grand Slam quarterfinal, making an impressive run down under at this year’s Australian Open.

Stefanos Tsitsipas names his most underrated player

De Minaur wasn’t the only top player asked to pick someone underrated, as two-time Grand Slam finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas also had a name at the ready.

Who is the best ATP player never to win a Grand Slam title?

Is it Alexander Zverev, Marcelo Rios, Tomas Berdych, David Ferrer or maybe even someone else?

“Yosuke Watanuki, I saw him practice, and I was like this kid should be top 50 minimum,” he said.

“I’ve never seen anyone practice like that.

“I’m talking three consecutive return winners, acing…

“I still think he’s going to have some good results this year.”

Watanuki, 27, is ranked well outside the top 100 (166th).

He peaked at 72nd in 2023, but has never won a tour-level title or been past the second round of a major.

Whatever Tsitsipas is seeing in training has yet to translate to results on the ATP Tour.

Which tennis player has the most aura?

The stars of the Rotterdam Open were also asked to pick the player they believe has the most ‘aura’.

“Current Aus Open champ [Carlos Alcaraz],” said De Minaur.

“[Alcaraz] He’s got aura, charisma, a nice positive vibe to him,” added Tsitsipas.

“[Jannik] Sinner, off the court, what an incredible guy,” said Hubert Hurkacz.

“Also, Carlos, both of them are really inspiring.”

Alcaraz and Sinner are certainly good picks!

The pair will return to ATP Tour action at the Qatar Open, which begins on Monday, February 16.
