Alex de Minaur has plenty to be proud of right now despite falling in the fourth round of Wimbledon.
De Minaur was a dark horse at Wimbledon, but the Australian could not make it past French Open finalist Flavio Cobolli in the last 16.
After knocking out Roman Andres Burruchaga, Adrian Mannarino and Zachary Svajda, he was beaten 5-7, 6-7, 3-6 by Cobolli on Court 1.
Still, the run was enough to help push De Minaur up to fifth in the ATP rankings, which means he has followed in the footsteps of many legendary players.

Alex de Minaur matches only six other Australian men after Wimbledon
Thanks to his efforts at Wimbledon, De Minaur has become just the seventh Australian to reach the ATP top five.
He has joined John Newcombe, Rod Laver, Ken Rosewall, Pat Cash, Pat Rafter and Lleyton Hewitt on the exclusive list.
It also represents a career-high rank for the 27-year-old, who incidentally experienced another major high during Wimbledon.
In a low-key ceremony, De Minaur married fellow professional player Katie Boulter.

Why Alex de Minaur can further rise the ATP rankings in 2026
Of course, De Minaur has plenty of reasons to celebrate right now, but his focus will soon turn to the North American summer swing.
And it should be a very welcome switch from grass courts to hard courts for the new world number five.
De Minaur claimed 43 victories on hard courts in the 2025 season, which hugely impressively was more than any other player.
| Rank | Wins | Player |
| 1 | 43 | Alex de Minaur |
| 2 | 41 | Felix Auger-Aliassime |
| 3 | 39 | Jannik Sinner |
| 4 | 38 | Carlos Alcaraz |
| 5 | 37 | Taylor Fritz |
That should give him plenty of confidence for the upcoming ATP tournaments, which will help prepare him for the US Open at the end of August.
Another successful spell on the surface could result in a further rankings boost, with only Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz and Felix Auger-Aliassime ahead of him right now.
