Coco Gauff has flown into the semi-finals of the French Open, overcoming Ons Jabeur in her latest test.

The former emerged victorious from their quarter-final encounter at Roland Garros, coming from behind to win 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

The world number three was certainly made to work hard in the early stages, but a superb turnaround has ensured her spot in the last four.

Unfortunately for the American, however, things are only going to get much more difficult from here on in at the French Open.

That is because she now faces world number one Iga Swiatek for a spot in the final of the women’s singles.

And the Pole is in stunning form on the clay, having won her quarter-final against Marketa Vondrousova 6-0, 6-2.

Former men’s professional Alex Corretja was tasked with interviewing Gauff following her win, with the Spaniard reserving some kind words for the American following their on-court discussion.

“Thank you to Coco for being so expressive and honest and humble and nice, always,” Corretja said on Eurosport.

“That’s what I told her at the end actually. I told her, thank you for always being such a kind girl because I think it’s very important for people to know her better.”

Will either Coco Gauff or Iga Swiatek end up with the trophy?

The women’s event at Roland Garros really is heating up, with Gauff versus Swiatek certain to be a thriller.

But there are several others wanting to secure a last-four spot in Paris, with the remaining quarter-final clashes also set to be very exciting.

Jasmine Paolini will meet Elena Rybakina in one of those meetings, with Mirra Andreeva taking on Aryna Sabalenka in the other.

Gauff has certainly impressed at the French Open so far, although the American is somewhat unhappy at some of the late finishing times at the tournament.

Her upcoming opponent Swiatek has also been thriving in France, with the Pole becoming the only player this century to reach the women’s singles fourth round at Roland Garros in each of their first six main draw appearances.
