Joao Fonseca has taken the ATP Tour by storm in recent times, with the Madrid Open now next on his agenda.
Fonseca played Grigor Dimitrov in a practice match ahead of the 2025 Madrid Open, the latest ATP Masters 1000 tournament in the calendar.
Brazilian star Fonseca takes on qualifier Elmer Moller in the first round, with the winner set to play 11th seed Tommy Paul.
Fonseca wants to play Novak Djokovic at Grand Slams, with the former already looking ahead to his French Open debut.
It arrives next in the Grand Slam schedule, with the 18-year-old having reached the second round of the Australian Open on his major debut.

He picked Juan Martin del Potro for forehand and Djokovic for backhand, with Roger Federer chosen for both volley and slice.
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard was picked for his serve, with Rafael Nadal selected for both movement and mentality.

Perricard another to have enjoyed a rapid rise in recent times, with his serve particularly catching the eye.
But the Frenchman has already suffered defeat at the Madrid Open, losing his meeting with Mariano Navone.
The 21-year-old recently dropped three places to 37th in the ATP rankings, having endured a tricky start to the 2025 season.
But Fonseca is certainly well-versed about his current rivals, with Perricard sitting at the very top of the ATP serve leaders list.
