We’re over halfway through the first week of the US Open and as we enter the fourth day, all eyes will be on the men’s and women’s number one seeds at Flushing Meadows.

Day three didn’t provide too many shocks as Novak Djokovic and Coco Gauff both comfortably progressed to the third round.

Home favorite Taylor Fritz defeated Matteo Berrettini while Casper Ruud eventually beat Gael Monfils after their match was temporarily suspended due to lightning strikes.

Elsewhere, there were wins for Aryna Sabalenka, Madison Keys, Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev, and Ben Shelton.

Key storylines to follow on day four of the 2024 US Open

Both the men’s and women’s world number ones will be in action today as Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek take to the courts.

Swiatek has struggled in the US and never gone further than the fourth round but the five-time Grand Slam winner will be hopeful she can make it through as she goes up against Ena Shibahara – a fantastic doubles talent.

Sinner meanwhile will face American Alex Michelesen and he is expected to make it through to the next round without any relative trouble.

A trio of British stars will also be in action today as Jack Draper, Katie Boulter, and Dan Evans – who set the record for the longest match in US Open history in the previous round, beating Karen Khachanov in five hours and 33 minutes.

Alex De Minaur will also be in action, as will 2021 US Open winner Daniil Medvedev before Carlos Alcaraz closes out the action.
