Novak Djokovic has won more Australian Open titles than anyone else, but still has one record left to claim…

The Serbian tennis legend is a 10-time Australian Open champion, having won titles in 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023.

In the Open Era, Roger Federer came closest to matching Djokovic’s tally, winning six titles between 2004 and 2018.

However, while Djokovic took that record from the Swiss star, Federer still leads in one other category.

Federer has won over 100 matches at the Australian Open, the most of anyone in tournament history.

Losing in the 2025 Australian Open semifinals, Djokovic failed in his bid to reach 100 wins at the event.

Sitting on 99, Djokovic remains three behind Federer, who retired with 102 wins in Melbourne.

He does, however, have a chance to take the record from Federer in 2026.

Should Djokovic reach the quarterfinals at the 2026 Australian Open, he’d become the winningest player in tournament history.

While the record would mean a lot, he’d no doubt prefer to go all the way and win his 11th title at Rod Laver Arena.

Who will win the 2026 Australian Open?

It’s not difficult to imagine Djokovic breaking the record next month, especially given his recent consistency at the Grand Slam tournaments.

Reaching all four semifinals in 2026, Djokovic won five more matches at each Grand Slam event.

Not only could he break the all-time Australian Open match win record in 2026, but he could do the same at Wimbledon and the US Open.

How Novak Djokovic can break the US Open win record

If he is successful in breaking all three records, then there will surely be no debate as to who the greatest tennis player of all time is…

How many wins do Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have at the Australian Open?

Djokovic looks set to take the record in 2026, but how many wins have his two younger rivals, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, picked up down under?

Alcaraz has won 11 matches in Melbourne, while Sinner, the two-time defending champion, has already won 22.

Only time will tell if either player can one day take the record for themselves, but it will certainly be something to watch out for.

The 2026 Australian Open begins on Sunday, January 18.
