Novak Djokovic experienced yet another Australian Open roller-coaster, with his latest venture ending in the semi-finals.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion made it through an injury scare as he beat Carlos Alcaraz in the Australian Open quarter-finals, but then retired from his semi-final with Alexander Zverev.

Many Australian Open fans booed Djokovic after that decision due to injury, with Zverev going on to lose the final to Jannik Sinner.

Djokovic messaged Zverev after the Australian Open final, with the German suffering the third Grand Slam final defeat of his career.

He does, however, remain second in the ATP Tour rankings after the Australian Open, with Djokovic having risen one place to sixth.

Novak Djokovic doesn’t have losing H2H against any top 25 player

Djokovic has spent 1,000 weeks in the top 100, but he now boasts another simply stunning record after the latest rankings emerged.

As per Eurosport, he is the only player who doesn’t have a losing head-to-head record against any of the top 25 players.

The Serbian legend has a 5-3 record against Alcaraz after their latest meeting, and a 4-4 record against world number one Sinner.

Taylor Fritz among American stars who need to beat Novak Djokovic

Djokovic has proven he more than has what it takes to compete with the very best with the phenomenal statistic, even with his injury issues.

The 37-year-old remains the men’s all-time Grand Slam title leader with 24, a record that will not come under threat anytime soon.

He will, of course, still be eager to add to that tally, particularly given that he is level on 24 Grand Slam titles with Margaret Court.

At the same time, however, he has set somewhat of a target on his back, with many top players now set to do their utmost to get one back on Djokovic.

British number one Jack Draper and American star Taylor Fritz may be on that list, with neither beating the Serbian thus far.

The 2024 US Open and ATP Finals runner-up particularly needs a win, with Fritz losing all 10 of his career meetings with Djokovic.

But he isn’t the only American in that position, with his compatriots Tommy Paul, Ben Shelton, Frances Tiafoe and Sebastian Korda remarkably all winless against the veteran.
