Another WTA Tour season has now reached its conclusion, with many players now enjoying a well-deserved rest from action.
WTA Finals champion Elena Rybakina wants an improved schedule as soon as possible after her efforts in 2025, with Iga Swiatek having spoken out about the ‘crazy’ calendar this season too.
It remains to be seen if the WTA players will be listened to, with similar complaints having emerged on the ATP Tour in recent times.
The leading players have complained about prize money too, although it is fair to say that they were still well compensated for their performances in 2025.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka claimed the most official prize money in the latest season, topping the pile with a figure of $15,008,519.
She is followed in second place by Swiatek on $10,112,532, with Rybakina in third place with a total of $8,456,632.

American duo Coco Gauff and Amanda Anisimova complete the top five, while their compatriots Jessica Pegula and Madison Keys are among the top 10.
Also among the highest earners on the WTA Tour in 2025 are Jasmine Paolini, Mirra Andreeva and Elise Mertens.

It certainly is an intriguing situation involving the leading players asking for a better share of revenue given the figures earned this season.
