Monica Seles was never able to lift the Wimbledon title in her career.
Seles is considered one of the greatest players of all time, having won nine Grand Slam titles in her career.
This included Seles winning eight of her nine major singles titles as a teenager, before winning her last at the 1996 Australian Open.
Despite winning multiple titles at the Australian Open, Roland Garros and the US Open, Seles was never able to get her hands on the Venus Rosewater Dish at Wimbledon.

Monica Seles never won a Wimbledon title in her career
Seles made nine appearances at Wimbledon in her career, and only once was she able to surpass the semi-finals.
Despite being a dominant force on the WTA Tour, Seles’ heavy topspin game was not as effective on the low bouncing grass at Wimbledon.
Seles achieved her best result at Wimbledon in 1992, where she suffered a heavy loss in the final to Steffi Graf, losing 6-2, 6-1.
She was never able to reach the final at SW19 ever again, with Seles playing at the grass court major for the last time in 2002, where she lost in the quarter-finals to Justine Henin, who also never won Wimbledon in her decorated career.
| Year | Monica Seles’ result at Wimbledon |
| 1989 | Fourth Round |

| 1992 | Final |
| 1996 | Second Round |
| 1997 | Third Round |
| 1998 | Quarter-final |
| 1999 | Third Round |
| 2000 | Quarter-final |

Seles’ struggles on grass were not just exclusive to Wimbledon, as she only ever won one title on the surface at the 1996 Eastbourne International.
What Monica Seles said after losing in the 1992 Wimbledon final
Seles won every Grand Slam tournament in 1992, with her Wimbledon final loss the only defeat she suffered in a major that year.
After losing to Graf in the final, Seles revealed her hope to win Wimbledon one day, but she admitted that she did not want to make it an obsession like Ivan Lendl, who was also never able to win the grass court major after losing in two finals.
Who is the greatest women’s tennis player of all time?
“I don’t want to do that. Wimbledon is extra special. I would love to play some great tennis there and win it,” Seles said at the time.
“This year, it definitely helped getting into the finals, but I think when I got to the finals, I made the occasion too big. I just thought, ‘whoosh’, and I shouldn’t have. So next year when I go back, I will have learned a lesson from it.
“But I would not like to do that to myself, because it is like Lendl, I think it is almost like an obsession. It is a tennis tournament. Everything is, you know, with the number one ranking with the US Open; you got to open it all and put it in perspective.
“That is why I don’t want any tournament to be something that I definitely have to do. If it happens, it was meant to happen; if it doesn’t, I am happy.”
Although she was unable to win the Wimbledon title, Seles will still always be one of the greatest tennis players of all time and an established Hall of Famer.
