The 2026 ATP Tour season has thrown up many surprises, most recently when Alexander Zverev won the French Open.

Despite world number one Jannik Sinner entering the Grand Slam as the overwhelming favorite, it was the German who emerged victorious.

But there is another significant surprise concerning the general scene on the ATP Tour, with neither Sinner nor Zverev leading the serving statistics.

The Italian tops the pile for Return Leaders right now, and Arthur Fils is at the summit for Pressure Leaders, but it is Reilly Opelka who ranks first in Serve Leaders.

ATP no. 86 Reilly Opelka currently leads the serving stats

A crucial area of the game, American giant Opelka is the player to catch regarding serving, despite his ATP ranking.

With a 6-8 win-loss record and zero titles won this season, the 28-year-old is currently 86th in the rankings.

But Opelka has still been the most impressive server, undoubtedly helped by his huge 6’11” (211cm) frame.

The formidable figure tops the pile thanks to his first serve points won figure of 80.3% and average aces per match tally of 18, both of which are Tour-leading.

Opelka is, however, pushing his serve to the limit, currently ranking sixth for average double faults per match with 4.2.

Still, overall he cannot be matched right now, with his service game better than Sinner, Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton and Zverev, who follow him in ranks second to fifth respectively.
